“I reserved my boat with Omegasail last year on the recommendation of a strangerfrom the Internet. In the planning stages, Christos answered all my questions quickly and guided us to the perfect vacation geared for us.(suggested the Ionian Sea for first time sailors since it would be calmer waters as well as explaining that it would take several weeks to sail the route I had first envisioned) He handled the monetary transactions professionally (deposit and final payment) and picked the captain for our trip based on our needs. About our boat – it was a very nice Bavaria 46 foot sailboat. There was plenty of room for two couples and the captain. We chose not to have a first mate and did our own breakfast and lunches on board. (although you could have breakfast every day at any port) We got to pick where we wanted to go (islands) and our captain knew all the perfect places to stop along the way. We even got to meet Christos in Corfu during our trip.”

“Great yachts, great service. Bareboat or skippered, early and late season one way trips available, even individuals can join by cabin or single berth. Omega also runs a winter training programme and can offer informal training with RYA Yachtmaster Captains and instructors to help you towards your courses or to build confidence towards chartering your own yacht. Every type of sailing is possible, from relaxed holidays in glorious sunshine, to more adventurous one way trips. Ask Omegasail or me for further information, look forward to seeing you soon! Richie, lead skipper.”

“Bavaria 46 – Borboleta one way route Corfu – Athens Our cruise from Corfu to Athens, it seemed to offer a rich variety of Ionian and Saronic islands, together with interesting experiences such as passing through the Corinth Canal. Maybe I didn’t realise that the itinerary was challenging but, as it turned out thanks to “Spyros” out skipper, quite feasible.
You… probably know where we went but I’ll summarise it for the record : first a tour of the attractive Corfu old town before joining Borboleta at Gouvia’ and down to Petriti; then Paxos ( Gaios was charming and we loved the Takataka taverna ), past Antipaxos and not stopping in Lefkas, which looked uninviting, on to Meganissi ( Vathy was much more picturesque) ,then to Kefalonia ( Fiskhardo and the Panormos tavern for lunch ) continuing to Itaca ( another Vathy ); an early start took us past Messolonghi and then Spyros skilfully moored us in Navpaktos where we climbed up to the Kastro; then along to Galaxidi next day before crossing to the rather dull town Kiato ; the passage through the Corinth Canal was exciting and then down the Peloponnese to Archaia Epidavros ( with an afternoon trip to the Epidaurus amphitheatre ); then down to Poros ( revisiting the characteristic Platanos tavern in the town and next day a trip to the Poseidon sanctuary ); then up to Aegina ( and a visit to the Aephea temple) before crossing on Tuesday to Alimos……Tuesday night we dined at Zephyros restaurant in Mikrolimano before a nightcap in Plaka ( sadly no bouzouki, due to some film showing that evening ); and yesterday we were appreciative of being able to leave our luggage onboard as we visited the Akropolis and the Parthenon museum before a lunch in Plaka and returning to Alimos to get our luggage, say goodbye regretfully to our Bavaria 46 “Borboleta” and drive to Makropoulou ( via Sounion ! ).
It was the most memorable and enjoyable trip imaginable, helped by warm sunny weather all the way and the skill and charm of Spyros ( such a good decision to have an experienced Greek skipper with us ). “
